Pattison Media wants to improve their industry by supporting the career development of and removing barriers to employment for underrepresented groups such as Indigenous Persons, Persons with disabilities, Members of visible minorities, and Women.
Pattison Media supports the underrepresented groups in the industry by awarding multiple annual scholarships:
- Up to 4 recipients chosen attending on a full-time basis, a post-secondary institution in a recognized Journalism program.
- Up to 4 recipients chosen attending on a full-time basis, a post-secondary institution in a recognized Broadcasting program.

Applicants must be a resident of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba.
A complete application includes the following components:
- Essay describing how your personal situation aligns with Pattison Media’s goal of supporting underrepresented groups
- Two reference letters from people that know you either personally or professionally, are currently working in the industry, or preferably, from a Journalism or Broadcasting school instructor.

Selection Criteria:
- The Essay will account for 50% of the total score assigned by the judges.
- The two reference letters will account for 50% of the total score assigned by the judges.

What is your commitment to Journalism or Broadcasting? What is your community involvement and activity? We want to hear about why you chose to pursue Journalism or Broadcasting as a career.
Preference will be given to members of groups currently underrepresented in the Journalism and Broadcasting industries.
