Inclusion is the practice of providing everyone with equal access to opportunities and resources. Strike would like all people living in Western Canada to feel safe and respected. They aim to ensure that everybody’s voices are heard and that they are creating a welcoming work environment.

This scholarship intends to promote inclusion by providing a scholarship that is open to all students living in Western Canada.

How to Apply

To be eligible for the Strike Group Western Canadian Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a person that was born or reside in Western Canada (ie. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba) for five or more years;
  • Be pursuing an education in the Energy and/or Construction fields.

Answering Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Make sure to include all of the following documents:

  • Proof of enrollment in either post-secondary or trades program that is specific to the Energy and/or Construction industry (e.g. electrical, instrumentation, pipefitter, welder,millwright, projectmanagement, administration, finance, accounting, safety, marketing, human resources, etc.);
  • Verification of Western Canada status;
  • Two reference letters; and
  • Completed Strike Group EDI Scholarship Application Form. In your application, provide examples of how you have been involved in, supported, or given back
    to your local community

Submit all documents together in one email to scholarships@strikegroup.ca prior to the deadline.

A panel of Strike Group employees will select the recipient of the scholarship. The panel will consider:

  • Eligibility requirements
  • Program of study (priority will be given to students in programs that support our industry);
  • Academic and career goals;
  • Community and volunteer participation;
  • Contents of application; and
  • Reference letters.

Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.

Strike reserves the right to award scholarships at the sole discretion of the company, and will base the decision on several factors, including eligibility, reference letters and information contained within the required essays. Strike in no way implies or guarantees that a scholarship will be provided to all applicants, regardless of eligibility.
