The RCAF Foundation Student Scholarship is offered to encourage more young people to consider careers in these Aviation and Aerospace, as the demand for skilled people grows in both the private and defense sectors. These scholarships are designed to assist post-secondary students in S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) areas of study who are planning future careers in the fields of either Aviation or Aerospace.

Over 60 RCAF Foundation Student Scholarships ($1,000 each) will be awarded this year. There will be one (1) Chris Allan RCAF Foundation Scholarship valued at ($2,500).

Since 2021, the RCAF Foundation have given out over 150 scholarships and have awarded over $175,000 in scholarship money to students all across Canada.

How to Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Attend a school on a full-time or part-time basis (as defined by the school);
  • Be enrolled in a course of study leading to a certificate, diploma or degree (college, undergraduate, master’s, PhD) in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics with plans to pursue a career in Aviation and/or Aerospace; and
  • Attend all courses on a regular basis.

Selection is based on each applicant’s completed application, which must be accompanied with EITHER an essay to a maximum of 750 words OR a video with a duration of 2-5 minutes.

In the essay or video, students must answer both of the following:

  • Tell us about yourself and why you are inspired to pursue a career in aviation and/or aerospace.
  • How will your career path and goals make a meaningful contribution to your chosen field or to your community?

Applicants must also upload:

  • A recent headshot photograph of yourself we can use if you are selected as a scholarship recipient.
  • Proof of enrollment at or acceptance to a college or university. Please see the Rules and Regulations for some examples of what could be used as a proof of enrollment.

 

Please answer both questions within one essay or video. Name your essay using the following format if possible: LastName_FirstName.pdf.

The RCAF especially encourage applications from students who are not well represented in the aviation or aerospace industries.

The deadline to apply is 11:59 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Scholarships will be announced the week of June 17. You will receive an email from the RCAF Foundation with the status of your application. If you have not received an email, please check your spam folder.
