The purpose of the IWSH Essay Scholarship Contest is to acquaint the uninitiated with the crucial importance the plumbing industry plays in our everyday lives, and to introduce students to the global impact of IWSH projects.
One first place winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship, and three second place winners will receive $1,000 scholarships.

Applicants must be:
- a current high school senior or;
- a full-time (12 credit hours) student in an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, apprentice program or;
- an undergraduate student enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university.
- International students are welcome to enter.
Applicants will be asked to submit:
- Letter of support from school
- School documentation (transcripts, schedule, acceptance letter, etc)
- Essay of 800 to 1,600 words on a topic noted on the scholarship website
- Current headshot
The Sandra Imprescia Essay Scholarship Committee will review essays to determine the top four. IWSH’s Board of Trustees will select and announce essay contest winners by the Fall.
- The deadline for essay submissions is 11:59pm (PT) on April 30.
- Any submission that is missing some or all of the requirements will be disqualified.
- All submissions become the property of IWSH. The winners’ essays will be posted on the IWSH website and published in the Official Magazine.
