The Full Potential Scholarship was created to help support promising Canadian students with learning disabilities and gifts* in their pursuit of postsecondary education.
Twenty (20) entrance scholarships, valued at $1,000 Canadian per year, are available to eligible students. Scholarships are available for bachelor or diploma level programs and can be renewed for up to four (4) years or until you earn your first bachelor’s degree or first diploma. In addition to tuition support, the scholarship program provides its recipients with mandatory virtual tutoring support valued at $5,000 Canadian over the course of four years
*Learning disability and/or gift: A persistent impairment in literacy and/or math. It is a disorder that affects people’s ability to either interpret what they see and hear or link information from different parts of the brain. These include, but are not limited to, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and dyspraxia.

You are eligible if you:
- Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a documented learning disability and/or gift that meets the accepted definition of this disorder. Please note that this does not include learning disabilities and gifts caused primarily by other disorders such as: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Brain Injury, Mild Intellectual Disability, or other psychiatric conditions. Applicants with a primary learning disability and/or gift and another disorder arestill eligible.
- Are graduating high school and planning to start full-time studies in your first bachelor’s degree or diploma program during the 2025-2026 academic year. You can study at Canadian educational institutions that have recognized degree, diploma granting powers or their affiliates (e.g., universities, colleges, CEGEP technical diploma).

Required documents:
- A proof of learning disability and/or gift: Assessments should be administered by or under the supervision of a registered psychologist or a clinician qualified and experienced in the diagnoses of learning disability.
- A letter of support from someone not related to you (teacher, tutor, principal, academic
advisor, religious functionaries, or spiritual mentor) and who has intimate knowledge of
you and your learning disability and/or gift.

A committee of Canadian university and college representatives, chosen by Scholarship Partners Canada (SPC) selects scholarship recipients. The Full Potential Scholarship has no influence in the decision. The selection committee’s decision is final.
Applications are assessed on content and relevance of the essay questions and of the letter of support.
All applicants will receive results of the selection process by email.
