Thanks to the generosity of the curling community across the country, Curling Canada is thrilled to offer 24 scholarships to young curlers pursuing their post-secondary education in the upcoming academic year.

The 2025 Scholarships will be offered as follows:

  • Ten $2,500 For the Love of Curling Scholarships will be awarded to curling student-athletes who best demonstrate athletic and academic prowess as well as community leadership.
  • Ten $2,500 Fran Todd All Heart Scholarships that will be awarded to curling student-athletes who best demonstrate volunteer and community leadership to create meaningful change through sport.
  • This year, ten scholarships, valued at $2,500 each, one of which is presented by the Governor General’s Curling Club, will be awarded to compassionate junior curling student-athletes to support the pursuit of their academic and community volunteer impact dreams.

How to Apply

  • Canadian citizen.
  • 22 years old or younger by December 31 (year of applying).
  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time for at least two semesters in a Canadian university or college (Fall/Winter/Summer).
  • Applicant must have a minimum grade average of 70% or equivalent grade point average (GPA).
  • Previous recipients of the 2022 or 2023 Fran Todd All Heart Award are eligible to receive the 2024 Fran Todd All Heart Scholarship, due to the change in nature of the program, as well as the 2024 For the Love of Curling Scholarship, providing they have not previously been a recipient.

  • Letter of Agreement
  • Personal essay (maximum 2 pages) on the topic as outlined within the scholarship application.
  • Two letters of reference
  • Most recent high school or university transcript

Selection for each scholarship stream, weighted according to the purpose of each, will be based upon:

  • Curling achievements, development and contributions;
  • Community volunteerism and demonstrated leadership;
  • Passion for the sport of curling;
  • Academic achievement.

The application deadline is 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on June 9. Successful applicants will be notified no later than August 30.

Note: Students enrolled at a private post-secondary institution (i.e. private vocational colleges) may not qualify. Each school and application will be individually evaluated. Please contact the Curling Canada Foundation before applying if you are unsure if your school qualifies.
