This program aims to encourage new artisans to preserve the fine art of cheese production. Up to 25 students who are each enrolled in a full-time, cheesemaker program at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship.

Applicants must be:
- At least 16 years of age.
- A legal resident of Canada or legal international student studying in Canada.
- Accepted into and completing a post-secondary certificate/degree from a Canadian institution of higher learning for a cheese-focused and/or cheese-forward full-time academic program.
- Enrolled in the educational program between September 2024 and September 2025.
- Applicants can be at any stage of the program during this timeline.
- Comfortable sharing their stories and journey to become an artisan cheesemaker with the mass consumer; through traditional or social media channels, as posted by Balderson and its marketing partners.
To apply, complete the Balderson Artisan Cheese Scholarship Submission Form on their website. Enter applicable student information (in English or French) and upload both a document proving acceptance into the chosen cheesemaker post-secondary program and an official academic transcript upon completion of the program.
Selection of recipients among applicants will be at the sole discretion of a committee appointed by Balderson. Recipients will be notified through their preferred method of communication, as indicated on the application submission form.
Once enrollment is verified, each recipient will receive $1,000 CDN upon proof of enrollment and $1,000 CAD upon proof of program completion in good academic standing (students who meet the institutions academic requirements and maintain satisfactory grades). If the recipient does not complete the program, they will forfeit their right to receive the remaining $1,000 CAD.
