4-H Canada recognizes the importance of investing in lifelong learning opportunities for youth as integral to their success and the long-term vibrancy of our Canadian communities and economy. Thanks to their partners, 4-H Canada is proud to offer a variety of post-secondary scholarships for 4-H members every year.

Awards:

Leadership Excellence Awards of Distinction – recognize outstanding 4-H’ers who have become exceptional leaders through their 4-H experience, and who share the best of themselves with their community. Four L.E.A.D. recipients are selected each year, one for each of 4-H Canada’s leadership development pillars. Each L.E.A.D. recipient receives a $20,000 scholarship for higher education ($5,000 annually for up to four years), ongoing mentorship from an expert in their field of study, and the opportunity to be a 4-H L.E.A.D. spokesperson.

Campbellbrook Fund 4-H Canada Trade Scholarships – support senior 4-H youth from coast-to-coast who intend to pursue a post-secondary education in a trade-based program or apprenticeship, and who plan to apply their education in a career that supports the agriculture sector. Five (5) scholarships valued at $1,000 each are awarded annually.

McDonald’s Canada Future of Agriculture 4-H Scholarships – support senior 4-H members across Canada that aim to advance important work in sustainability through a career in agriculture. Eight (8) scholarships, valued at $5,000 each, are awarded annually.

John Deere Canada 4-H Scholarship – available to 4-H members across Canada who plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a Canadian college or university in a degree, certificate or trade-based program in September 2024. Fifteen (15) $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually.

TD 4-H Agriculture Scholarshipavailable to 4-H members who plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a Canadian college or university in agriculture, ag-science, or agri-business in September 2024. Twelve (12) $3,000 scholarships are available annually.

Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers 4-H Scholarship for 4-H members who are planning to attend a Canadian university or college in September 2024. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually.

 

How to Apply

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by January 1, 2024 and a current 4-H member in
    good standing.
  • Applicants must be Canadian residents in their final year of high school, CEGEP or an
    undergrad student planning to attend college or university in September 2024.  More specific program requirements apply to some programs.
  • A reference letter from their community, school, or 4-H leader.

Recipients will be notified in July 2024 and public announcements will be made in August/September.
