Academic positions in mathematics at universities (very few and far between); high school and college teaching (very popular!); research in government institutions (such as Stats Canada).
Mathematicians are not highly “visible” in a workplace, such as lawyers of physicians. They usually work in the background. For example, they are actuaries in insurance companies, financial planners of risk managers in banks, or software designers and computer programmers.
