While many grants and scholarships at the University of Toronto have several requirements for measuring candidacy, there are also many financial awards that focus on one aspect. The presence of financial need can be a major reason for scholarships and grants. Furthermore, the University of Toronto offers hundreds of ways to fund your education. Many of which only require the aspect of demonstrating financial need to be eligible. So, here is a list of undergraduate grants and scholarships at the University of Toronto:
1) The Accessibility Services Grant
Firstly, this award’s value varies depending on what the student demonstrates as a need. The University of Toronto’s Enrolment Services offers this grant. For students who need assistance covering costs for their transportation or other accessibility-related needs. Fill out an application for consideration.
2) A. Wong and D. Adams Bursary
Secondly, if you are a full-time, undergraduate student at the Faculty of Law, you may qualify for the A. Wong and D. Adams Bursary. This will vary on the basis of financial need alone. While there is apparently no application, contact your faculty to inquire about this award. There is also the A. Kent Bursary, which is available to students of Law.
3) A. and F. Laporte Award
Are you enrolled in Criminology or Sociolegal Studies at Woodsworth College? You may qualify for the A. and F. Laporte Award. This award varies in its disbursement. So, fill out the application for consideration.
4) A. Lewis Bursary
If you are a student at Victoria College, you may qualify for the A. Lewis Bursary. This one also varies in value and an application is required. Visit their website for information on how to apply. Alternatively, you might be eligible for the B. Mary Hardy Bursary, which also varies in value and requires an application.
5) A. Edell Award
If you are a part-time student at Woodsworth College, you may qualify for the A. Edell Award. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need while enrolled in English studies. Fill out an application to be considered for this award. Moreover, there’s the Bronfman Bursary for Woodsworth students, which varies in value and also requires an application.
6) Mirvish Award
If you are an upper-year student enrolled in either a Specialist or Major program in the Department of Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies and demonstrate financial need, you might qualify for a Mirvish Award. The director may recommend you to the University College registrar if you are eligible. You do not need to apply for this grant. Check for important information online. There’s also the A. Lindsay Fernie Award at the Faculty of Arts and Science. This award is for students enrolled in a drama program. No application required. Students can earn up to $3,000 for the Fernie Award.
7) Pavone Family Award
If you are a student in the MD program, the Pavone Family Award might be an award that interests you. The Faculty of Medicine offers this award, and you will have to fill out an application to be considered. The amount will vary based on your financial need. Alternatively, if you are a full-time student at the Faculty of Medicine, you may also qualify for the Ashley Ma Memorial Award (an application is required for this one too).
8) The Arts and Science Students’ Union 2nd Year Bursary
Are you a second-year student registered with the Faculty of Arts and Science? You could qualify for this award on the basis of financial need. Also, there’s no application required and you could earn up to $1,500 in value.
9) The Faculty of Arts and Science Bursary (ASSU and Dean Bursary)
Similarly, as a full-time student in your second year or higher with the Faculty of Arts and Science, you may be eligible for up to $2,000. This award does not require an application. Also, the ASSU 4th Year Award, given to full-time fourth-year students who demonstrate financial need, is eligible for up to approximately $1,500 in awards.
10) Bloomberg Nursing Class of 6T3 Award
For students in the undergraduate nursing program, you may qualify for the Bloomberg Nursing Class of 6T3 Award. An application is required. But you can receive up to $1,500 in awards.
11) Farrar Scholarship
Moreover, if you are enrolled in a program under the Department of Classics, the Farrar Scholarship is a good scholarship to hope for. Most noteworthy, up to $1,250 can be awarded per student.
12) The Amrhein Bursary
This $1,500 bursary is for students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Science at St. George campus. Need to be in their second year or higher. No application required.
13) The Centre for International Experience Grant
Finally, if you’re participating in a CIE program abroad, apply for this grant. It will vary depending on your need. Additionally, the University of Toronto Enrolment Services offers this grant.
14) Class of 8T3 Vince Volpe Memorial Award
