Whether through volunteer work with marginalized populations, advocacy for legal reform, public legal education initiatives, or innovation that reduces systemic barriers, applicants should show a passion for making the justice system fairer and more inclusive. They welcome applications from students in all fields of study, with a particular interest in law, social justice, public policy, and Indigenous studies.

Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at a recognized Canadian university.
Field of Study: Preference may be given to students in law, social work, public policy, Indigenous studies, political science, or related fields — but open to all disciplines.
Academic Standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
Applications must include a short personal essay, academic transcript, resume, and a letter of recommendation.

The successful candidate will be selected based on impact, initiative, and alignment with our core values.
Demonstrated Commitment to Access to Justice (Primary – 50%): Volunteer or professional experience in legal aid, advocacy groups, community organizations, or similar settings; projects or initiatives that improve legal literacy or reduce barriers to justice.
Leadership and Initiative (20%): Evidence of leadership in campus or community activities.
Personal Essay (20%): A 750–1,000 word essay on the applicant’s contributions to access to justice, challenges faced, and future goals.
Academic Potential (10%): Shown through transcripts and/or letters of recommendation.
Winners will be notified by February 1, 2026
Cashion Legal reserves the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or terminate the Scholarship program at any time;
- Withhold or revoke the Scholarship in cases of academic misconduct, dishonesty, or other breaches of these Terms;
- Not award the Scholarship in any given year if no applicant meets the minimum standards
By accepting the award, the recipient agrees that Cashion Legal may:
- Announce their name and university affiliation publicly;
- Publish a brief summary of their work or essay (with minor edits for clarity);
- Use their name, likeness, and submitted materials in promotional content (e.g., website, social media, press releases).
The recipient may request that their identifying information be anonymized or withheld from public use.
All application materials and personal information will be used solely for the purposes of administering the Scholarship. They will not share or sell applicant information to third parties.
