The ECCC Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded to students in their graduating year of high school (CEGEP for Quebec applicants), who wish to pursue bachelor’s degrees leading to possible careers in environmental sciences or environmental engineering, to ensure that all voices are part of these fields.
Four scholarships can be awarded each year. Each scholarship is $2,000 / year, renewable for a maximum of four years dependent on the availability of funding.

These scholarships are awarded to students in their graduating year of high school (CEGEP for Quebec applicants), who wish to pursue bachelor’s degrees leading to possible careers in environmental sciences or environmental engineering.
Application package should include:
- A cover letter from the applicant that includes their mailing address and contact information and the anticipated university program
- A letter of reference from a community member describing the community member’s position and relationship with the applicant, the applicant’s passion for the environment, and any supporting information in favour of the applicant’s interest and abilities to pursue a career in sciences (e.g. environmental sciences, etc.).
- Official transcript of their marks for the most recent year at the time of application, sent directly to CMOS-SCMO at the address below.
- A financial need statement from the applicant describing how the financial assistance of the scholarship will help in their pursuit of an undergraduate environmental program degree (max. 200 words).
- A short essay (maximum 500 words) by the applicant, describing the applicant’s interest in Environmental Science/Engineering.
- A short essay (maximum 500 words) by the applicant, describing the applicant’s interest and/or experience in improving Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Proof of acceptance into a recognized Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics program with an emphasis on the Environment.
