The I.D.E.A.L ScholarshipTM is designed to empower and propel individuals from equity-deserving groups and foster diversity within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. With a clear focus on promoting inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility, the I.D.E.A.L Scholarship aims to drive enrollment in STEM programs across Canada while cultivating a vibrant and innovative bio-economy.
Three scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded to students entering their first year of an accredited bioscience-related program at a Canadian college, university, or CEGEP who have demonstrated leadership and a commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility. Eligible applicants include Indigenous students, persons with disabilities and newcomers to Canada.

To qualify for the I.D.E.A.L Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- Entering their first year of study in a bioscience-related program in an accredited college, university or CEGEP in Canada
- Express financial need
- Identify as one of:
- Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis)
- Persons with Disability (qualify for Disability Tax Credit)
- Newcomer to Canada (immigrant, refugee or permanent resident with fewer than 5 years in Canada)
Apply online. Be prepared to submit:
- Provide documentation confirming you will be entering the first year of study in a bioscience-related program in an accredited college, university or CEGEP in Canada.
- Proof of academic achievement (e.g. latest academic transcript)
- Demonstrate IDEA leadership: Everyday wins like starting a diversity club, helping peers overcome barriers or inclusive projects count.
