Claes Nobel, of the Nobel Prize family and Co-founder of NSHSS, was a passionate advocate for environmental causes. In fact, his favorite greeting was “Good Earth to you!” He encouraged all of us to treat every day as if it were Earth Day by taking action and doing our part to preserve, protect, and tend to this wonderful planet we call home.
Two $1,000 awards are available to NSHSS high school and college members of all levels with a dedicated passion for conservation, sustainability, environmental policy, or preservation of the Earth.

NSHSS high school members graduating in 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028.
Applicants must submit:
- Prompt response of 500-800 words to the following question:
- Imagine a world where your choices shape the health of our planet. How have you contributed to preserving Earth’s resources within your community and beyond? In what ways are your efforts inspiring broader societal change, guiding us toward a greener, more sustainable future?
- Pictures/videos/media showing your leadership in action
- Color headshot suitable for website posting
- Educator recommendation letter
- Academic resume
- Current Transcript (can be official or unofficial)
