Strike Group believes everyone has a right to education, and are committed to providing people in historically underrepresented groups with financial aid. By supporting students along their journey, they hope to support a pipeline of diverse students containing unique talents, skills and abilities that help to benefit us all.

If you identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirit, or any other identity within the LGBTQ2S+ community, you are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

To be eligible for the Strike Group Canadian LGBTQ2S+ Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an openly self-identified member of the LGBTQ2S+ Community

Answering Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Make sure to include all of the following documents:

  • Proof of enrollment in either post-secondary or trades program that is specific to the Energy and/or Construction industry (e.g. electrical, instrumentation, pipefitter, welder,millwright, projectmanagement, administration, finance, accounting, safety, marketing, human resources, etc.);
  • Verification of Identity (Valid Driver’s License or Photo Identity Card)
  • Two reference letters; and
  • Completed Strike Group EDI Scholarship Application Form. In your application, provide examples of how you have been involved in, supported, or given back to the LGBTQ2S+ community.

Submit all documents together in one email to scholarships@strikegroup.ca prior to the deadline.

A panel of Strike Group employees will select the recipient of the scholarship. The panel will consider:

  • Eligibility requirements
  • Program of study (priority will be given to students in programs that support our industry);
  • Academic and career goals;
  • Community and volunteer participation;
  • Contents of application; and
  • Reference letters.

Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.
