Having any source of funding is SO important as a college student. Does your wallet need some help? Put your worries to rest, we’re here for you. With that said, you’re going to have to put some work in. The good news is that we’ve found some already! Here are 10 scholarships that you may qualify for.

1.) Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program

Students in graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels are able to apply for a merit-based scholarship through the OGS program. The awards are based on the number of terms of your consecutive studies within an academic year. For instance, $10,000 is given for two consecutive study terms, while $15,000 is given for three consecutive terms. Each award is given for a minimum of one academic year with two or three consecutive terms, to a maximum of two years, being six academic semesters. 

Are you eligible? The scholarship is merit-based. Your application will be assessed and ranked utilizing criteria determined by the school you choose. To be considered you must:

  • Be in a graduate studies in the master’s or doctoral level
  • Be enrolled in a full-time program for two or more terms for the year you’re submitting your application
  • Be attending a participating Ontario school

2.) Frank Bernards Awards in Fisheries

This scholarship is given to students continuing to a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of the Fisheries & Aquaculture program. The student must demonstrate financial need as well as immense dedication and commitment to their work. Additionally, you must be recommended by faculty. Apply here.

3.) CRI Study in North America Survey – Win $1000

This one’s a pretty sweet deal. Regardless of your citizenship, school, financial need, school, or field of study — you’re eligible. Just take this survey and you’re in! See here.

4.) Retail Education Scholarship Program

This is a $1000 award provided by the Retail Council of Canada. To qualify, you must be enrolled in a full or part-time program at a Canadian College or University for Fall 2019, currently pursue a retail, business, marketing, or retail related post-secondary program, as well as work part or full-time in the retail industry. 5.) Knowledge First Financial Graduate Scholarship Awards

There are 10 scholarships available from Knowledge First Financial. To be eligible, applicants must enter a full-time graduate program (starting in September) and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Find all the details here.

6.) Meridian’s Commitment to Communities Sean Jackson Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes community initiative, innovation and impact among Ontario Youth. The award goes to a high school graduate who demonstrates academic and community excellence. Meridian wants to hear from students who use their energy, creativity, and entrepreneurship to solve and address problems in their community. Does this sound like you? 7.) Gerry Bruno Scholarship

This scholarship commends leadership and innovation of founding CEO of InterVISTAS Consulting Inc, Gerry Bruno. Bruno was a respected leader in commercial airport management. The Gerry Bruno scholarship goes to someone who demonstrates similar qualities and ambitions that Mr. Bruno demonstrated through his government service, airport marketing, and strategic planning. He had an approach to problem-solving that was based on solid analysis, understanding, and law. He also had an immense appreciation for education. The $5000 scholarship is awarded every two years at the Airports Canada Conference & Exposition. Apply here by April 1st.

8.) Mindsumo 15 Minute Mini Scholarship

This merit-based scholarship allows students to submit an idea in as little as 15 minutes to a business or engineering problem created by a Fortune 500 company. $20,000 in total scholarship funds are offered every month for these challenges. Individual challenges have a $1,600 scholarship prize pool and top ideas can earn up to $200 each. You can tackle as many challenges as you want to increase your chances! 9.) Globalink Research Award

Globalink offers many scholarships with a goal to financially support and encourage students to aim for their goals. This scholarship goes to Canadian students who pursue studies in ANY program and demonstrate leadership/commitment to their field of choice. Recipients will develop research skills, networking skills, and be a part of Canada’s generation of global innovators. Apply now for your chance to win $5000.

10.) Tbinary Brokers Scholarship

Tbinary Brokers is dedicated to helping students succeed financially. They understand the importance of financial education in society today and have a goal to help the next generation succeed fiscally.
