Support Ontario Youth’s Education Scholarship program awards 10 scholarships, each valued at $500, to registered apprentices across a range of skilled trades, to help cover the college fees for their classroom training. Successful recipients will receive specific details on how payment will be issued.

Qualifications
- Active Registered Training Agreement (RTA)
- Have a Student ID with a Training Delivery Agent (ie. a college) and
- Are an Apprentice in one of the following trades:
- Electrical (Construction or Industrial)*
- Plumbing
- Motive Power
- Millwright
- General Machinist
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Sheet Metal
- Tool & Die Maker
- Mould Maker

Applicants will need to provide:
- Student ID Number
- Registered Trade Agreement (RTA) Ministry Client ID
Applicants must answer the following questions:
- Who is your current employer and what are your duties?
- Why have you chosen a career in the trades?
- Have you done any work relating to the skilled trades that is outside of your apprenticeship?
- What are your personal interests?
- If you have established career goals, what are they?
- How did you hear about this scholarship?
Timeline for the scholarship process is as follows:
- Applications open: September 1, 2023
- Deadline for submissions: October 31, 2023
- Successful applicants will be announced: End of November 2023
PLEASE NOTE: Support Ontario Youth must award the scholarship to the applicant’s College. A Student ID is required to qualify for this submission. If you do not have this information, please get in touch with your registrar’s office to obtain it before beginning this application.
