In recognition of the challenges young riders face as they strive to continue their education while competing at high levels of jumping sport, a Jumping Youth Bursary was developed for competitors between the ages of 14 and 21 who compete in hunter, jumper and equitation divisions.

- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Must hold a current Gold Equestrian Canada sport licence
- Must be active in hunter, jumper or equitation divisions
- Must be an EC member in good standing
- Age 14-21 as of January 1st of the year of application
- Applications must include a complete nomination form, academic transcript and a letter of support from a Coach, Nominator and an EC Sport Licence Holder in good standing who is independent of both the nominee and the nominator.
- Nominations are welcomed from coaches, show organizers, provincial federations, fellow competitors who are Equestrian Canada (EC) Sport Licence Holders in good standing.

Each year, the Youth Bursary Committee selects recipients of the Jumping Youth Bursary program based on the strength of applications received. Elements considered in the application process include a transcript of grades and outline of academic curriculum; future educational plans; equestrian experience; commitment and dedication to their sport; a positive image within the sport; achievement of notable competition results, whether at the local, regional or national level; goals within the equestrian industry; and financial need.
Individuals may only receive the Bursary a maximum of two times.
