Engineers Canada offers three scholarships, one for undergraduate students and two for graduate students:

  • The Engineers Canada Leadership Scholarship: Eight scholarships valued at $4,000 each to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students in CEAB-accredited engineering programs.
  • Engineers Canada-Manulife: Three scholarships valued at $12,500 each to support Canadian engineers returning to university for further study or research in an engineering field.
  • Engineers Canada-TD Insurance Meloche Monnex: Three scholarships valued at $7,500 each to support Canadian engineers returning to university for further study or research. Your studies must be in a field other than engineering, but one that will complement your engineering practice.

How to Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
  • Be registered for a minimum of two full-time semesters for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Additional Requirements (Engineers Canada Leadership Scholarships):

  • At the scholarship deadline, be enrolled full-time and in good standing with a CEAB-accredited undergraduate engineering program.
  • As of August 31, 2024, have completed at least one year of undergraduate engineering studies at an CEAB-accredited program.
  • Have not previously received the Engineers Canada Leadership Scholarship.

Additional Requirements (Engineers Canada-Manulife Scholarships)

  • Be registered as an engineer (P.Eng) / ingénieur (ing.) in good standing with one of the 12 regulators throughout the duration of their academic year.
    • Engineers-in-training and junior engineers with l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Not a post-doctoral fellow.
  • Have not previously received this scholarship or the Engineers Canada-TD Meloche-Monnex Scholarship.

Additional Requirements (Engineers Canada-TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Scholarship)

  • Be registered as an engineer (P.Eng) / ingénieur (ing.) in good standing with one of the 12 regulators throughout the duration of their academic year.
    • Engineers-in-training and junior engineers with l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • Not a post-doctoral fellow.
  • Have not previously received this scholarship or the Engineers Canada-Manulife Scholarship.

The nomination form must be completed online in a single session (you cannot save your work and come back to it later). It is strongly recommended to read the nomination form entirely before you begin to ensure you have all necessary information and documents ready. In addition to completing the form, required documents include:

Engineers Canada Leadership Scholarships:

  • An electronic copy of your transcripts for your current engineering program. An unofficial copy is acceptable.
  • Two letters of support – Each letter should provide evidence and validation of the contributions described in the nomination package. (2 pages maximum per letter)
    • At least one letter should come from a member of faculty with knowledge of the student.
    • Letters of support in sealed and signed envelopes are not required. However, if provided, they should be mailed to:

    • Letters of support sent by post must be postmarked on or before the application deadline.

Engineers Canada-Manulife and Engineers Canada-TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Scholarships:

  • Electronic copies of your transcripts of all your academic records (completed or in process of completion).
  • Two letters of support – Each letter should provide evidence and validation of the contributions described in the nomination package. (2 pages maximum per letter)

All nominees, successful or otherwise, will receive written notification of the Awards Committee’s decisions by August.

Applicants may only apply in one scholarship category per year.
