You’re invited to participate in an initiative that will have a meaningful impact in your community and across the country. By raising awareness for plasma donation and recruiting others to become plasma donors, you will help save and improve the lives of patients in Canada.

How to Apply

  • To become eligible to win a bursary, participants are required to recruit a minimum of 20 unique plasma donors to book an appointment and attend a Canadian Blood Services donor centre between May 01 and August 31, 2022. No purchase or donation required.
  • Legal residents of Sudbury, Ont., Lethbridge, Alta., and Kelowna, B.C.
  • Presently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Canada and will still be enrolled by January 31, 2023.
  • Reached the age of majority in the resident province.
  • Participants must register to the program.
  • Attend mandatory orientation session.
  • Create an unique ID under which their plasma donor recruits will book and attend an appointment at the plasma donor centre at the respective locations.
  • The applicants will be evaluated in terms of the number of plasma donors they recruit. To count as a plasma donor recruit, one must book and attend an appointment. They must also meet the basic plasma donor eligibility criteria including minimum age for plasma donation. No purchase or donation is required.
  • There are 11 bursaries and prizes; three worth $3,000 for applicants with the highest donor recruits, three for second highest, and five for randomly drawn eligible participants in the pool.
  • The bursary will be transferred directly to the students’ schools to be used for their education. No winner will receive a personal cheque.
  • The applicants must meet the eligibility criteria stated above and follow the contest rules stated on the landing page.
  • The applicants must register for the program, attend an orientation session, create a unique ID, and make sure their donor recruits are using the ID when booking an donation appointment.
